about kevin & tessa

Kevin & Tessa Hall have served in the pastorate together for over 12 years in Baptist churches in Texas.  Kevin was raised in a pastor’s home, primarily in Midland and Longview, Texas. In Longview, he met Tessa who grew up in Nacogdoches, Tyler, and Longview. God has blessed Kevin and Tessa with a daughter and a son, ages 10 and 4.

Kevin has served in vocational ministry for more than 16 years, beginning in Youth Ministry. He earned his BA in Religion from Baylor University (view) in 1995 as well as his MDiv. from George W. Truett Theological Seminary of Baylor University (view) in 1999. He is presently a Doctoral Candidate at George W. Truett Theological Seminary. His hobbies include bird hunting, watching sports, watching James Bond movies, and chasing his kids.

Tessa is an educator with a BS degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University. She has taught elementary grades in both private and public schools, has authored Christian curriculum for Smyth & Helwys Publishing (view) as well as brief memoirs (view), and has designed mid-week programs for Children’s Ministries (view) over the past 13 years. Her hobbies include writing, speaking, cooking, decorating, and spending time with her family.

Kevin and Tessa individually discovered God’s call to ministry upon their lives as young people. Having served in the pastorate since the age of 22, they have developed a unique love for not only the Church, but for ministers. They believe that the relationship between a pastor’s family and the laity is a precious one, but must be protected, strengthened, and cultivated. Their desire to be advocates and educators for healthy pastor/laity relationships serves as the catalyst for “the fishbowl”.

A quote from Jon Hus, who put his whole heart into God’s call upon his life, and became “the enemy of society,” thanks to the Popes, the Archbishop of Prague, the Emporer of Rome, and the King of Bohemia.
